Is it normal to have peeling after a peel?? The answer is yes and no..... Here's why! All skin is different, which means that chemical peels will have different reactions to each individual person's skin. In this picture I did four layers of the Sorella Clear Skin Peel and while the rest of my skin isn't having any reaction, my chin is visibly peeling. A couple factors can make this happen one being I might have been more heavy-handed with the peel in that area because I was breaking out there and two my skin could have been drier there already causing the peel to react more. Also, an important factor to keep in mind is that we use our mouth to talk, which is going to make that area stretch more than other places on our skin. Ultimately, a chemical peel works regardless if you have physical signs of your skin shedding. Here is a breakdown of how peels work and how they can help our skin. ⭐Exfoliation: The chemical solution used in the peel breaks down the bonds between dead skin cells, leading to their shedding and the subsequent peeling of the outermost layer of skin. ⭐Stimulation of Skin Renewal: Chemical peels encourage the skin to regenerate and renew itself by stimulating collagen production. As new, healthier skin cells emerge, the old ones slough off, causing peeling. ⭐Removal of Imperfections: Chemical peels can target various skin imperfections, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.
